February 5, 2026: New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys has completed the cover art of the Pontchartrain Shaker’s new blues album (their second), “Love, Peace & Chicken Grease.” This marks the artist’s eleventh album cover art project.
The original color pencil on paper drawing measures 15.5″ x 17″. It depicts musicians Red DeVecca on bass, Amedee Frederick on guitar, Earl Smith on drums, and Jojjo Wight on guitar.
The official release by New Orleans label Southland Records (with Jazzology Records, a part of the GHB Foundation) is set for February 20, 2026. There will be a CD release party April 19, 2026 at the Triangle Square Cocktail Lounge in Slidell, LA from 4:00pm–7:00pm. The event will be open to the public, and in addition to offering CDs for sale, the band also will be selling t-shirts with the cover art printed on the front, and a small run of archival prints signed by Rhys and the musicians.
