$3,200.00

18″ x 24″ custom framed original painting on off-white 93 lb (150 gm) archival paper, in wood shadow box frame, warm antique silver tone, 29″ x 35″, 3″ wide, 3″ deep; art floated on off-white mat; 2″ scoop linen liner (tea-stained by Rhys), fillet.  *Glazing is UV Museum Glass.

This one-of-a-kind framed original pencil,  ink and gouache painting was created in two stages by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys. First, the pen & ink drawing was created on December 8, 2018, during a live music performance at the New Orleans Jazz Museum -- their first Improvisations Gala, Patron Party -- of Jon Batiste, solo piano. While most of the artist's live-music drawings are completed on the spot in the venue, some receive additional work, and in this case gouache paint was added in 2023 at the artist's French Quarter art studio, utilizing the artist's signature blend of expressionism and pointillism.

Mr. Batiste will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which he is depicted.
