This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on November 11, 2017, during a live music performance in the courtyard at Scene By Rhys Fine Art (its former location on Toulouse Street). Christien Bold, vocals is headlining the trio version of Jesse McBride Presents The Next Generation. The drawing has been cropped from a 24" x 18" sheet of paper.
Pianist/educator McBride's 2013-2018 weekly Wednesday night musical residency at Prime Example served as a training ground for young musicians, whom he mentored as "The Next Generation," in tribute to his own mentor, the legendary musician/composer/record label owner/arranger/educator Harold Battiste, Jr.
