This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on November 10, 2017, prior to the start of live music upstairs in the Ramp Room at The Little Gem Saloon.

Ms. Rhys was warming up by working on a drawing of the piano that Henry Butler would soon be playing. She often arrives early and creates a drawing before the music starts, as a way of warming up creatively, and getting a preview of how the stage, or some other aspect of the setting, will fit on the page.
