This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys, from a photograph, on February 16, 2016, in the artist's French Quarter art studio.
Drummer Hal Smith sent Rhys the photo source for this drawing to appear on the CD cover for the 2016 Kris Tokarski "Hot Classicism" recording. The other drawings featured on the CD, of Kris Tokarski and Andy Schumm, were created during live performances.
Mr. Smith will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which he is depicted.
