This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on November 4, 2014, in the artist's French Quarter art studio. A rare example of a Rhys music drawing not created during a live performance, this drawing in fact utilized a photo by Eliot Kamenitz (with his permission) of Irma Thomas performing at French Quarter Fest as the source.

In this drawing, Rhys has depicted an imaginary scene, in which Ms. Thomas is singing on a balcony overlooking Orleans Avenue with the La Prete building on the right and St. Louis Cathedral in the background, the famous "touchdown Jesus" shadow in evidence. This drawing is second in a series of three.

Ms. Thomas will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which she is depicted.
