The one-of-a-kind original pencil, ink and watermedia painting was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on August 3, 2012 in the artist's French Quarter art studio.
The artist first started painting flowers decades ago, while living and working in New York City. She also created a large series of highly detailed graphite drawings of flowers in Santa Fe, NM near the end of her 17 year tenure there.
This one is part of a small number of still-lifes with non-musical themes Ms. Rhys has created in New Orleans.
