This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on July 30, 2018, prior to the start of a live music performance at Site Santa Fe as part of New Mexico Jazz Fest.

The artist often arrives early and creates a drawing before the music starts, as a way of warming up creatively, and getting a preview of how the stage, or some other aspect of the setting, will fit on the page.

In this case, pianist Jason Moran and his wife, the singer Alicia Hall Moran, would soon be onstage performing her staged concert presentation of "Black Wall Street".
