This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil, ink & gouache painting was created in two stages by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys. First, on April 30, 2018, the drawing was created during an afternoon live music performance in the courtyard at Scene By Rhys Fine Art (its former location on Toulouse Street).

While most of the artist's live-music drawings are completed on the spot in the venue, some receive additional work, and in this case gouache paint was added in 2023 at the artist's French Quarter art studio, utilizing the artist's signature blend of expressionism and pointillism to accentuate and enhance the forms of both musicians and instruments.

L-R are George Aschmann, fiddle and Greg Sherman, guitar (in a trio with Julie Schexnayder, bass--not seen here). She is depicted in #8259, another drawing created during the same performance.

Mr. Aschmann and Mr. Sherman will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which they are depicted.
