This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil, ink and watermedia painting was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on July 26, 2017, during a live music performance at Prime Example Jazz Club. Singer Christien Bold is depicted gripping the mic in performance with the band Jesse McBride Presents The Next Generation.

Pianist/educator McBride's 2013-2018 weekly Wednesday night musical residency at Prime Example served as a training ground for young musicians, whom he mentored as "The Next Generation," in tribute to his own mentor, the legendary musician/composer/record label owner/arranger/educator Harold Battiste, Jr.

While most of the artist's live-music drawings are completed on the spot in the venue, some receive additional work, and in this case the paint was added at the artist's French Quarter art studio.

Mr. Bold will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which he is depicted.
