This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on August 14, 2012 with Ms. Smith-Simmons posing live in the artist's French Quarter art studio, the drawing completed in one long afternoon session.

Ms. Smith-Simmons is a friend of the artist, and of the artist's father Noel Rockmore. She was a Freedom Rider in the 1960s and worked for many years at Preservation Hall. Her youngest brother is trumpeter Will Smith, who plays requently at Preservation Hall, in brass bands, and with the Palmetto Bug Stompers.

Ms. Smith-Simmons will receive a cash commission from the sale of this artwork in which she is depicted.
