This one-of-a-kind unframed original pencil and ink drawing was created by New Orleans artist Emilie Rhys on January 8, 2019, during a live music performance at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music. Pianist/bandleader/composer/educator Ellis Marsalis is depicted leading his eponymous quintet from the piano.
In honor of Mr. Marsalis, who passed away on April 1, 2020, the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music will receive a cash donation from the sale of this artwork in which he is depicted.
